About the Designer.....

In August of 2007, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This was after a three year period of losing an aunt to ovarian cancer, a grandfather to cancer, having an aunt and a co-worker diagnosed with breast cancer, a friend’s son with Autism, my mother with Diabetes, a childhood acquaintence with Lou Gehrigs (ALS), who recently passed from it, and many more. Then the news came that I had this potentially debilitating disease.

I was suddenly moved one night, and realized, “I want to give.” But how? I certainly couldn’t afford it. I was having my own problems paying for my new medications. I couldn’t give up my job to volunteer, I have a family to care for and two young daughters to raise. What can I do? I relied on my creative background.

As a degreed Graphic Designer, with more than ten years in the career, I started with what I knew. I found a company called CafePress that would allow me to upload my graphics for minimal charge, and allow me to sell my designs on their products, which allowed me to not have any overhead. With only $4 profit on most products, I decided to donate half of my $4 profit to charity. Then it grew. In two months time, I had sold over $1,000 in product, and had over $100 to donate. I wanted to donate more. So I got back into designing jewelry. My mom has always made handmade quilts, so I got her in on my “little” project. She agreed, and it grew into this site- which is now, not so “little”.

With the help of my husband, friends and family, this is where we are today. Growing, learning, and helping. We are fully dedicated to helping get charities the money they need to find cures. To help people who have these conditions live a full life. To make things a little brighter.

If you have a charity you would like us to review and add to our donations list, please feel free to contact us. There is no charge for designs, and you will receive monthly updates on how much your charity will be receiving. We all work together, we can make it happen.

And that’s my destination.
